La Borie d’Imbert Goat Farm in Rocamadour

less than an hour from Camping La Plage in Meyronne

15 km from Camping La Plage in Meyronne, La Borie d’Imbert immerses you in the local terroir “for real”, at the heart of a goat farm and cheese dairy where the famous Rocamadour AOP is made. The visit is self-guided, at your own pace, with areas designed to help you understand the craft and watch the production stages. On weekday mornings, you can see the cheese moulding, then come back later in the day for families’ favourite moment: milking, offered every day. After the discovery comes the foodie treat: the shop welcomes you for a tasting and offers cheeses and local products.

The farm & Rocamadour AOP

At La Borie d’Imbert, you’re in a real goat farm and cheese dairy where the famous Rocamadour AOP is made on site. The farm highlights an “everything is used” model: goats for cheese, but also other farm animals to make the most of resources (whey, hay, etc.). People come as much for the authenticity of the place as to discover, firsthand, an iconic product from the Rocamadour terroir.

The visit

The visit is designed to be simple and engaging: when you arrive, stop by the shop where you’re welcomed and can taste cheeses/local products, then head off on a self-guided visit of the goat farm and cheese dairy (with video rooms too, to better understand the craft). Two key moments shape the day: Rocamadour AOP moulding is scheduled on weekdays between 10 AM and 12 PM, and milking takes place every evening, all year round, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM (you can even arrive while milking is in progress).

The shop

The shop is a real foodie haven: you’ll find Rocamadour AOP, other goat cheeses, and plenty of local-terroir shelves (local products, gift boxes, etc.). And if you want to eat on site without planning ahead, the farm offers a picnic basket concept: grab a basket and put together your meal right in the shop (fresh bread, pâtés/rillettes, cured meats, cheeses, artisan ice creams, drinks…).

Practical services for a stress-free visit

On site, you’ll find:

  • A shop with tastings (Rocamadour AOP, local products)

  • A picnic basket to put together on site (ideal for a relaxed lunch)

  • Shaded picnic areas + children’s play area
